A new opportunity to help wounded and active duty service members.
Fredericksburg, VA, November 7, 2012: In honor of Veteran’s Day, The Knitting Game and Other Stuff (TKGOS) weekly video web series in cooperation with Lollipop Yarns, Fibernymph Dye Works, Inked Knits, Dyeabolical Yarn, and Another Crafty Girl is proud to announce The Armed Forces Fiber Fanatics (AF3) Charity Sock Yarn Club. The net proceeds generated from the club will be evenly donated to the Wounded Warrior Project and the USO. It is projected that the AF3 Charity Sock Yarn Club will generate over $1,000 in funds split evenly for the two organizations.
Each month of the club, members will receive a single skein of custom dyed sock yarn from one of the independent dyers. The dyers are drawing inspiration from the various branches of the armed forces. The different colorways will be released in the order of the service’s “birthday”. The club will run from January, through May with the final colorway being inspired by the Star Spangled Banner.
In addition to the single skein option, members can also choose a project bag option for an additional fee. The base price for club members will range from $21-$29 (plus shipping) and the bag option will be an additional $20 each month. Membership for the club will be awarded via a lottery if more than 29 individuals sign up for the club. To submit your information for membership in the club, interested individuals should visit http://myordinaryjourney.com/af3-sock-club/. Sign-ups for the club will run from November 7, 2012 through November 21, 2012.
Club members will be invoiced for their club membership on the 5th of the month beginning on January 5, 2013 with a shipping date for their yarn, or yarn/bag option, on the final Saturday of each month.
