1. Grilled BBQ Chicken
2. Pasta Salad
3. Deviled Eggs
lol…. so I was thinking of dinner tonight and what I was going to do today. First, I’m going to have some coffee, then I’m going to head over to the library. I have a copy of The Spinner’s Encyclopedia by Enid Anderson on hold that I can pick up. Next, I’m going to go over to the Old Town Yarnery. Seriously, I think every town should have a Yarnery, don’t you? Probably not, but for a knitter/spinner I love going into LYS to see what’s around, dream, and think about creating. Next I’m going to head to the store. I’m going to do grilled BBQ chicken with pasta salad for dinner. Jason is going to make deviled eggs, and I’m going to make brownies from scratch with a warm berry compote to go over a dollop of vanilla (or maybe chocolate) ice cream for dessert. I also finished one of my convertible mittens last night, so I’m going to take some pictures and post them later. Instead of finishing the set, I decided to start the pair of mittens I owe my dad for Christmas. I made scarves for my sister and step-mom, but really didn’t know what to make my dad, so I had him choose, so a pair of mittens it is!
Wow, a busy, but AWESOME, day ahead… Hope you enjoy yours!
I knit this sweater over the summer for some friends of mine that were expecting in the fall.
This was the first sweater that I ever knitted, and it was so fun to do. I learned a ton, and I loved working on it. The weekend before I gifted it to the expecting parents, I spent 8 hours working on the embroidery, setting in the sleeves and doing things like weaving in ends, and I loved every second of it. I think the fact that I actually started/finished a project surprised him almost as much as my friends.
So today, I got to see my sweater as a true Finished Object (FO). Little Miss was finally big enough this week to fit into it. It feels amazing to know that something I made could actually be used.
1. I forgot, I’m working later today, so I should have “slept in” an extra half hour
2. The water is warm
3. Get the day in order
4. Knit, spin… spin, knit… too bad Uniquities isn’t open later today
5. Should I go to Liberty Town this weekend and hang out with the ladies?
“As heard…” is going to be a new segment, hopefully daily, of statements and snippets I hear out while out and about that strike me as funny. Most, if not all, of these statements will be intentionally be taken out of context – that’s what makes them funny.
So here it goes…
As heard… at the gym: dude, I need my balls
Thanks to my personal trainer Brandon Washington for that one.
Most of the “As heard…”s will be anonymous, but he really wanted to take credit for that one…
1. Troy Polamalu
2. Troy Polamalu’s hair
3. Head and Shoulders is awesome and they have a sense of humor
4. I need to coordinate getting those charity knit items to the TCCOC today
5. I can’t wait to finish my convertible, fingerless gloves so I can do more spinning.
I’m so going to do this. I have at least 12 oz. of fiber in mind for this thanks to my hook up at the Smoky Mountain Spinnery. Get the word out! See you there!

I love these so much. The colors are awesome. Maybe I should come up with some of my own patterns for my homespun yarn.
Ravelry: abackus’ Handspun Mittens.
Well, I didn’t think about anything this morning. Seems as though I was on autopilot and didn’t have a single thought while in my actual shower. However, here is the list of things I thought that I should have thought about while I was in my actual shower:
1. Time is not constant
2. My hair still smells like the pool
3. I need to get those charity hats (from the Fredericksburg Spinners and Weavers Guild) to Totally Committed Community Outreach Center.
4. I’m only going to have 2 hours of free time on Tuesdays and Thursdays… this sucks.
